Adopting a Maine Coon kitten is much more than just love at first sight… It's welcoming a new family member. Here, we explain everything you need to know before your future companion arrives, so that everything goes smoothly — for you, and especially for them.
Adopt with Confidence
The Right Time: Proper Weaning
Our kittens leave their mother at a minimum of 12 weeks, and often a bit later. This time is essential for their development: they learn to be clean, to eat well, to play without hurting, and to become well-adjusted future cats. Weaning too early often leads to behavioral issues later on. So here, we take our time.
Quality Food for Healthy Growth
Our Maine Coons are fed quality food, adapted to their growth and their giant size. We'll provide you with all the necessary advice (and even a small starter kit) so the transition at your home goes smoothly. And of course, we remain available if you have any questions later. Just because they've left doesn't mean the connection is broken!
A Cat is Not an Object
We want to emphasize that adopting an animal is a long-term commitment. A Maine Coon can live 12 to 15 years, or even longer. They need attention, presence, a secure environment (even in an apartment), and lots of love. Abandonment is never an option. If you ever face difficulties, we'd rather you contact us. We don't judge, we look for solutions together.
Closeness and Respect
Maine Coons are sociable, curious, and very endearing cats. They enjoy company, participate in household life, and often... follow you everywhere! But each cat also has their own personality, rhythm, and needs. You need to listen to them, respect their quiet moments, and provide them with their own space.
Paperwork Matters Too!
All our kittens are:
- Registered with LOOF (Official Book of Feline Origins): a guarantee of traceability and professionalism.
- Identified by microchip
- Dewormed and vaccinated, with up-to-date health record
- Monitored by our veterinarian, and sometimes neutered (depending on the case)
- Transferred with a clear adoption contract that protects both the animal and you.
And After?
We love getting updates on our former kittens! You can send us photos, ask questions, or just tell us how they're adapting. An adoption is often the beginning of a beautiful relationship… and not just between you and the cat 😉
